Account & Access
How access to Insider Magazin is provisioned after a signed order form, how customer data is connected during onboarding, and which account features are planned but not available.
How access works
Insider Magazin has no self-service sign-up on the website. Access is set up in a consultative process:
- Demo. You explore the workspace with the illustrative datasets at /demo, or request a guided demo from the sales team.
- Proposal and order form. You receive a written proposal or order form that states the scope, price, billing period, renewal and cancellation terms. Nothing is binding before you sign it.
- Provisioning. After the order form is signed, the Insider Magazin team provisions access to your workspace.
- Data connection. During onboarding, the team connects your data through the API adapter (see below).
User management
How users are invited, how access is granted and revoked, and how many users an order covers will be documented here. [Pending: User management details]
The public demo
The demo at /demo requires no account and uses only the illustrative datasets, which contain no personal data. Statistics are computed in your browser. Nothing you select or filter in the demo is saved by Insider Magazin.
The demo uses the same analysis sections as the customer workspace: Overview, Data Explorer, Frequency Analysis, Distributions, Historical Trends, Comparisons and Reports. Use it to evaluate whether the analyses fit your data before requesting a proposal.
Connecting your data
Customer data is read through a server-side adapter from an HTTPS API that your organisation operates. The API returns datasets in the documented JSON format; responses are validated before use. The contract, validation rules and error behaviour are described in Platform Overview.
The connection is configured by the Insider Magazin team during onboarding, using the server environment variables DATA_SOURCE=api, ANALYTICS_API_URL and, if your API requires it, ANALYTICS_API_TOKEN. The token is sent only from the server to your API as a bearer token; it is never sent to the browser.
What to prepare
- An HTTPS base URL that serves
GET /datasetsandGET /datasets/{id}. - A token with read-only access to those endpoints, if your API requires authentication.
- For each dataset: unit, value label, category label, list of categories, value kind (continuous or discrete) and recording precision.
- Observations with a stable ID, a date as YYYY-MM-DD (UTC calendar day), a finite numeric value, a category and a source label.
- A contact on your side who can correct records that fail validation.
Data is read, not copied
The adapter reads datasets from your API when they are requested and caches responses on the server for up to five minutes. Statistics are computed in the browser of the person using the workspace.
Planned, not available
The following capabilities are planned. They are not available today, and no delivery date is committed. Do not base a purchase decision on them.
| Capability | Status | Current alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Self-service upload (CSV/Excel import in the browser) | Planned | Data is connected through the API adapter during onboarding |

| Team roles and permissions | Planned | — |
| Team sharing | Planned | Share exported CSV files or PDF reports |
